Puerta del Aceituno scenic area

Puerta del Aceituno scenic area

JAÉN, Spain

This project entails the construction of a building along side the walls of the Puerta del Aceituno in Jaén. The building will have a main auditorium with the capacity to hold 630 spectators, various workshop rooms and two stories underground for parking (7,000 m²).The main auditorium is built on a hillside and all the enclosure walls are angled inward, which together with its great height makes a detailed study on all the lifts absolutely necessary. On the other hand, the inside closure must remain open for public access. Therefore, only the upper part is enclosed with an wide angled beam, which sustains the side walls. Given that the beam is not self-supporting until the structure is complete, all the beams and walls must be supported.

Las Arenas Bullring

Las Arenas Bullring

BARCELONA, Spain

The old bullring, unused since 1990, will be transformed into a modern center dedicated to recreation, and it will be crowned with a grand zinc dome and a circular observation deck with views of the whole city at the height of 27 m. The 6 story building will have a surface area of 32,400 m² built over the ground. Total surface area will be greater than 100,600 m². The ground floor of the building will be converted into a great covered bullring to improve pedestrian traffic. Another curiosity of the project is that on the fourth floor, where the hot tubs and the macro-gymnasium are to be located, there will be a circular track overlooking the city where joggers enjoy there sport. Three laps on the track will be the equivalent of 1km.
